Navanti Announces CEO Transition, Names Fred Payne Chief Executive Officer
Arlington, Virginia: Navanti announced that Andy Black, who founded the company in 2008 at the peak of the last recession, has decided to take a break after 10 years at the helm. The Board of Directors has appointed Fred Payne, formally the Chief Operating Officer and CFO, as Chief Executive Officer. This leadership change is effective immediately.
“We are sincerely grateful to Mr. Black, who has done a commendable job building Navanti from scratch. During this time, the company has grown from a start-up to become the market defining force serving primarily DOD and CIVIL customers in 60 countries world-wide. The company has proven itself as a responsible provider of actionable, real-time, on-the-ground information in complex international environments,” said Board Chairman, Dendy Young.
Mr. Payne has extensive background in government contracting and was with Lockheed Martin for 10 years prior to joining Navanti in 2016.
Vice Chairman of the Board, Andy Black commented, “this is an exciting time at Navanti. Nowhere else will you find such a dedicated, diverse, and capable team using data to solve problems in food security, health access, and security challenges in developing countries. We started with some ideas about evidence-based programming and public policy, and Navanti is now a market leader defining the space. Fred is a tremendous leader and ready to take Navanti into the next phase of its growth. The coming few years will be a lot of fun at Navanti.”
